Scope of Works

Scaffold with edge protection and debris netting erected to working elevations.
Existing roof covering, battens and underlay stripped and removed.
Roof structure inspected on exposure; timber condition assessed.
Permavent breathable underlay installed with correct laps and eaves detail.
New treated softwood battens, BS 5534 graded, fixed to gauge.
Interlocking slate-grey tiles laid from eaves to ridge; ridge and verge details completed.
Abutment and vent pipe flashings dressed and sealed.
Rainwater goods renewed. Waste segregated and removed; site handed back clear.

Two Roof Types, One Standard

This property was reroofed in interlocking slate over a Permavent membrane. A companion property on the same programme was reroofed in concrete interlocking tiles over a Cromar Vent3 membrane. Different coverings, different substrates, the same sequence and the same standard of workmanship — stripped, inspected, underlaid, battened to gauge, and laid true.

Permavent breathable membrane and treated battens with tiles stacked out — 01 Permavent breathable underlay laid, treated battens fixed to gauge, tiles stacked out ready.

Battens and membrane across the roof slope — 02 Battens run across the full slope. Loading is spread rather than concentrated.
